Chastisement

The first Message of Garabandal carried a serious warning: "the cup is filling up … if we do not change, a very great chastisement will come upon us." The second Message given four years later in 1965, goes even further and says that the cup is "overflowing". You can read the words of Rev. Francis Turner, O.P. to obtain a fuller understanding of the nature of "chastisement". The information that Rev. Turner shares on our website attempts to answer the questions about "Who chastises? What causes it? What is the purpose of chastisement?" An explanation is given regarding the two different types of chastisement: Some are "locking-out" while others are "opening-up". The Blessed Virgin appeared to the four children of Garabandal, Spain on July 2, 1961, and hundreds of times thereafter. Our Lady offered the children messages of the Warning, the Miracle, the Permanent Sign, and made an announcement of a chastisement.

Garabandal - The Workers of Our Lady of Mount Carmel de Garabandal INC. is a non-profit, tax exempt, religious organization incorporated in 1968 by our founder, Joseph Lomangino of Lindenhurst, New York. Garabandal - The purpose of the Workers of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is to promote the messages of Our Lady given during her alleged apparitions at San Sebastian de Garabandal, Spain (1961-1965)...Apparitions of Garabandal - On June 18, 1961, St. Michael the Archangel appeared to four girls of Garabandal, Spain. It was the first of the apparitions of Garabandal. Further apparitions of Garabandal occurred over the next several days.
